Boost Efficiency in Filmmaker-Project Connections

At Activate Intelligence we offer AI based solutions for the various challenges our clients might face.

Smash is a business that matches filmmakers with exciting projects to decision makers with the funds to help make those projects. At the moment, the “call outs” from the various funds and decision makers are all curated and written by one person. That means all the notes are taken from a meeting with a decision maker and then written up into a “call out” that potential filmmakers will see and be able to submit their projects to.

This is where we step in to help Smash’s matchmaker or cupid, if you will, get the best notes out of their decision maker clients and then subsequently write consistent and clear call outs all with a bit less hard work and a bit more of a smoother process. What if there were features on the Smash website that could enable an AI assistant to help from start to finish of the creation of a call out?

First of all, no one wants an AI agent telling them how to do their job. Our challenge was to allow the agent to guide the process of note taking, and make suggestions where information might be missing or what a filmmaker might need to see in order to make the best submission. When writing the prompt, the issue was in creating a response that wasn’t just finding missing information for the sake of it. The current solution to this is prompting the agent to respond only with the top 3 relevant questions/suggestions for the notetaker. The notes only need a bit of tweaking or a little bit more information, and this helped create a list that wasn’t over exhaustive.

The AI agent is seamlessy integrated in the UI of Smash platform.

Secondly, the task was to create an agent that we could input notes into and get a very concise and consistent call out format back. This means that the matchmaker can easily get an output that both matches brand tone and succinctly provides all the necessary information for potential filmmakers. Obviously, edits can be made but this reduces the time spent creating a call out and the potential for leaving out useful information. The quicker the call out goes up, the quicker the matches can get made.

At first we have made these agents available to the Smash team on our Spritz platform. This is allowing them to test the different agents with actual data and provide feedback that allows our “prompt artists” to improve the performance. In a second stage the very same agents have been integrated directly in the Smash platform using the agents Spritz A2A API and are now available to premium Smash clients.
